Rousseau - estado de natureza, o "bom selvagem" e as sociedades indígenas
Palavras-chave
The work intends to discuss Rousseau’s state of nature and the natural man in relation to the anthropological perspective, particularly referred to the indigenous societies. The emphasis is that the idea of the rousseaunian noble savage is not applied to the those societies, as sometimes one is led to believe. That concept was formulated as an abstraction, an illustration contrasting with the civilized man and the civil society, which was severely criticized by the thinker of Geneva. The indigenous societies cannot be adjusted to Rousseau’s state of nature because the passions that move and bring misery to the individuals in society are also present among the Indians of any time and of any area.
