Vontade e contrato social em Santo Agostinho
Palavras-chave
This paper argues that Augustine of Hippo – the fundamental author in Christian philosophy – is also the one who shaped the relationships of will and contract that ripple through contemporary social thought. Starting with Augustine’s conversion to Christianity, the text traces his anxious pursuit of God, his abandonment of the Classical rhetoric tradition, his search for perennial wisdom, his moral semiotics as the foundations of the conventionalist assumptions that shape the humanities and the social sciences.
