A cultura da linguagem na obra de Chico Buarque

Resumo
Chico Buarque de Hollanda é autor de ampla e variada produção artística, no campo musical e literário, e um dos mais importantes artistas brasileiros da segunda metade do século XX e início do século XXI. Neste pequeno ensaio, antes de tudo uma homenagem a Chico Buarque, conjugo os tropos discursivos da poética tradicional – metáfora, sinédoque, metonímia e ironia – com a moderna teoria da linguagem na análise de sua obra. Mais do que proceder a classificações categóricas, pretendo apontar a existência de uma arquitetura poético-musical em processo de (des)construção, profundamente marcada pela carnavalização da língua. Atenção especial é dedicada aos temas da malandragem e do circo por apresentarem profunda afinidade tropológica com a sinédoque da carnavalização.

Abstract
The culture of language in Chico Buarque’s work
This short essay intends, firstly, to homage one of the greatest Brazilian artists, Chico Buarque de Hollanda. But it is also an attempt to sketch an analysis of his wide-ranging artistic production, both in literary and musical fields, which covers the period from the second half of 20th century to early 21st century. Such analysis conjugates both the modern theory of language and the rhetorical figures – or master tropes – of traditional poetics (metaphor, synecdoche, metonymy, and irony) in order to highlight a poetic-and-musical architecture which is constantly (de)constructing itself. I further argue that such singular structure is deeply signaled by a carnivalization of language. For that matter, special attention is given to the themes of ‘malandragem’ and circus, since they present an intrinsic tropological affinity with the synecdoche of carnivalization.
