Política 2.0: contenido y usos de la red social Twitter en las candidaturas presidenciales chilenas para la elección 2009-2010

This paper presents results of a study on the content and use of social network Twitter by candidates in Chilean presidential elections 2009-2010. Through a non-experimental ex post facto design, in-depth interviews to managers of digital campaign and content analysis of Twitter accounts of the two most voted candidates, appreciated the features and styles present in the use made by them such a platform: Enríquez Ominami – by frequency and use power – can be considered the candidate of social networks, while Piñera was charged with building a digital image. Arrate, meanwhile, despite understanding its importance, did not have the resources and the support of its members. Frei, however, never used the platform, leaving his command post, a move that sidelined him for the potential benefits. This evidences the growing importance of new technologies and social networking sites for political and electoral. Keywords
