As relações entre arte e design: uma análise de discursos subjacentes e de pressupostos de comunicação
Palavras-chave
This paper investigates some of the points of contact, similarities and differences that have fed the discussion regarding the bordering relations between art and design. One of the premises is that art and design are distinct fields, but due to the peculiar millenary historiccultural changing condition of art and of the still emerging statute of design, they keep a complex and hard-to-understand relationship. In a diachronic and comparative analysis, we seek support in three authors: Arthur C. Danto, Aristotle, and Umberto Eco. More than reaching definitive answers, our goal is to broaden the knowledge on the interconnections and mutual influences between these two fields. The relevance of the study relies on the fact that design has tried to establish itself as a strategic, autonomous and singular field. Keywords
