Cinema e católicos no Brasil: entre a ação pastoral-religiosa e a ação cultural-educacional

This article deals with the relationship between cinema and catholics in Brazil, turning specifically to the action of cores that worked in Rio de Janeiro, in the 1950s and 1960s. Undertakes, therefore, a descriptive-analytical course that begins of the directions facing censorship and comes to cinematographic formation practices, considering the integration between institution, groups and individuals in the implementation of a collective project, which has the cinema as a symbolic element mediator of an education, sometimes in broad levels, sometimes restricted. As theoretical and methodological support, are considered the assumptions of Norbert Elias and Pierre Bourdieu, in understanding the interdependencies between social structures, practices and collective and individual trajectories, which fundamentally refer to human relational networks, to the habitus and memory, as interlocking conditions of apprehension, reframing and expression of experiential knowledge.
