Da cultura visual à cultura material: o minimalismo como forma de expressão na sociedade de consumo

The purpose of this article is to analyse the transition made by minimalism, from an artistic movement born in the 1940s to a representation of a contemporary lifestyle. First as a marginalmovement, minimalism gains more supporters from social networks. Seeking a subculture space in the consumption’s society, this movement revisits concepts of visual culture in combating consumerism and waste, in an anti-market logic, without getting carried away by a polarizing ideological discourse.
