O campo jornalístico em disputa: pesquisa sobre as práticas discursivas dos fotojornalistas e fotógrafos populares
Palavras-chave
Photographers from community and mainstream media organizations document the everyday life of Rio’s favelas from different perspectives. While mainstream photojournalists mainly report on favelas from outside to inside, denouncing wrongdoings and human rights violations, community photographers do it from the opposite direction, from inside to outside, producing images of the everyday life of favela communities. This study takes an ethnographic and discursive approach to investigate and compare the working practices of these two groups of photographers. Drawing inspiration from Foucault and Bourdieu, it is possible to shed light on how cultural capital and economic capital, which community and mainstream photographers possess, shape photographers’ subjectivities, and thus theircontested discursive practices that take place in the journalistic field.
