Das capas para o espelho: imaginário sobre o feminino nas pautas de moda

This article presents a study of the imaginary about the feminine in fashion printed magazines aimed at woman. As empirical research object we chose two prominent brazilian magazines. Nova and Estilo de Vida, published by Abril, talk about the feminine in their covers and infashion matters in perspectives that have some singularities, but are similar in many aspects, especially in the discourse on consumption and on the body. The purpose of this paper is to analyze, through fashion journalism, the imaginary about women from the observationof recurrences in textual and visual speeches. The research also seeks to outline the role of fashion as a way of communicating and the role of the body as a medium to fashion. As theoretical background, we turn to readings of communication, sociology and cultural history fields. Keywords
