Regimes representativos da modernidade

Resumo
Este ensaio introduz uma área de pesquisa emergente denominada "Cultura Visual" enfocando o estudo da relação entre texto e imagem, entre a representação visual e a literatura, como abordagem fértil para a compreensão da literatura numa sociedade cada vez mais dominada pela dinâmica da "cultura da imagem". A relação entre o que o texto "faz ver" e o que a imagem "dá a entender" aparece aqui como o nexo privilegiado para delinear a arquitetura do regime representativo de um determinado momento histórico e cultural.

Abstract
This essay introduces a emergent research field called "Visual Culture" where the focus is put on the relation between image and text, visibility and discourse, visual representation and literature as a fertile approach to the comprehension of literature in a society dominated by the culture of images. The relation between what the text makes visible and what the image makes comprehensible appears as a privileged link in the architecture of the representative regimes in a determinate historical and cultural moment.
