Technological developments in the last decades allowed the media to achieve huge dimensions and an impressive degree of penetration. The concentration of communication means in industrial groups that rely on profits to survive brigs with it a tendency of homogenization of contents. Journalism also loses its autonomy when in finds itself attached to the reason of Capital and ends up by taking part in today’s dominant arrangement, based on the connection between fast circulation, consumerism and profit. Based on Bourdieu’s theory of social fields, Baktine’s writings on indirect speech and Deleuze & Guattari’s ideas of production of subjectivity, this paper tries to bring to light the functioning of means of communications in Brazilian society Key-words
