Palavras-chave
This is an analysis of self reports in blind people’s homepages, trying to understand how the "blind-narrators" build their personal identities, within a complex web of attributions and acquisitions. The reports themselves make clear that the choice of internet as their vehicle is mainly related to the emotional value assumed by the computer and its facilities for blind people. Using special software, blind people can enjoy their access to the world of literacy more intensely than with the braille system. These self reports, like some other "biographic illusions", relate "successful stories" of people who became unique combining conventional means in a particular and specific way. Construed between determination and agency, these stories function as a means to comprehend and give sense to painful experiences, organizing memory. Key-words
