Action among Friends: A study about the representations of consumption in the Friends This article aims to analyze the representations of consumption in the American TV series Friends, according to Hirschman, Scott and Wells methodological proposal (1998). The use of television programs and films as the object of study is still little explored in the field of consumer’s behavior in Brazil. Thus, this study seeks to contribute to the understanding of how consumption practices are represented to make tangible cultural characteristics and aspects of social identity. The aim is, therefore, to amplify the knowledge of the relationship between consumption practices and cultural texts, helping to open up new research perspectives. Keywords
