Metodologia no trabalho científico: importância da coerência no desenvolvimento da pesquisa

Resumo
O artigo analisa a importância da consistência do método na pesquisa científica, a partir de estudo do Caso do ônibus 174 (Rio de Janeiro em 2000). Analisamos como o jornal O Globo construiu um estereótipo de bandido do personagem Sandro do Nascimento Barbosa. Três hipóteses foram trabalhadas. A primeira, assegura a criação do estereótipo pelo jornal, induzindo ao julgamento do personagem como bandido; a segunda, postula que os leitores, confiaram que o estereótipo atendia à realidade, e a última afirma que o documentário Ônibus 174 (2002) desconstrói esse estereótipo. Utilizamos como método-guia o fenomenológico-hermenêutico, com apoio do Estudo de Caso, da Análise do Discurso, das Entrevistas em Profundidade e do Focus Group. O resgate mostrou que o jornal criou um “bandido perigoso” e que sua imagem ganhou força na mídia pelo episódio do Ônibus 174 e não por sua história de vida.

Abstract
Scientific Method: importance of consistency in the research development
The article analyzes the importance of consistent method in scientific research, based in the study of the 174 bus case (Rio de Janeiro in 2000). We analyze how the newspaper O Globo has built with his speech a stereotype of “villain” of the case’s protagonist. Three hypotheses have sought to answer the question. The first ensures the creation of the stereotype leading readers to judgment of the character as a villain, the second posits that readers trusted in the stereotype created and the latter says that the documentary 174 bus (2002) deconstructs the stereotype. Method used is guide phenomenological-hermeneutic, with the support from methodological techniques Case Study, Discourse Analysis, In-Depth Interviews and Focus Group. The rescue showed that the newspaper has created a “dangerous criminal” and that he had gained momentum in the media from the criminal act and not from his life history.
