Novas formas de comunicação: história do Facebook - Uma história necessariamente breve

Resumo
Neste artigo é apresentada a história, ainda breve, da rede social Facebook. São apresentadas as suas principais funcionalidades: os pedidos de amizade, o feed de notícias, o botão “gosto”, as redes e grupos, o mural, a cronologia (Facebook timeline), e o desenvolvimento de aplicações (“apps”); e é feita uma análise sobre as interações que estas funcionalidades promovem entre os utilizadores, sistematizando e clarificando essas interações. Por fim, é feita uma reflexão sobre a abordagem acadêmica ao estudo do Facebook e são apresentadas algumas boas práticas de investigação desta temática cada vez mais ubíqua na sociedade atual.

Abstract
New Communication Forms: History of Facebook – A Necessarily Brief History
This article presents the history, still brief, of the social network Facebook. Its main features are presented: the friend requests, the news feed, the “like” button, the networks and groups, the wall, the Facebook timeline, and the development of applications (“apps”); and an analysis is made on the interactions these features promote between users, systematizing and clarifying these interactions. Finally, a reflection is made on the academic approach to the study of Facebook and some best practices for investigating this increasingly ubiquitous subject of modern society are presented.
